To help you enjoy this tour to the fullest, a professional English-speaking driver will pick you up at your hotel on board a comfortable van. You can sit back, relax and enjoy in tranquillity the stunning landscapes along the road, all the way to the charming town of Montepulciano. This medieval gem of rare beauty is perched on top of a hill from here you can enjoy an amazing and boundless view over Val d’Orcia and Val di Chiana. Montepulciano encloses a unique historic centre with elegant buildings, beautiful squares and small hidden corners. Wandering through its ancient lanes you’ll be amazed at the beautiful historic cellars that still store the wine under the ancient walls. And of course you will have a chance to taste the famous Nobile wine!
The next stop will be at a local wine estate to visit the vineyards and cellars and learn the secrets of wine making.
At the end of the visit you will finally have a taste of the famous wines produced in this area, such as the Nobile di Montepulciano, accompanied by a light lunch with typical Tuscan products.
Your amazing experience continues towards another enchanting village, Pienza. Nestled between soft and poetic hills with impressive views, Pienza enjoys a privileged position overlooking the entire Val d’Orcia and it is known as the “ideal” Renaissance city. A creation of the great humanist Enea Silvio Picclomini, who later became Pope Pius II, Pienza was supposed to embody the principles and philosophy of the classical age and the great Italian Renaissance. On a more profane level, this is also the city of cheese! The renowned Pecorino di Pienza is a sheep milk cheese extremely tasty. Do not miss the opportunity to try it.
Leaving Pienza, you will return to your hotel accompanied by your driver.
