Explore the historical town of San Gimignano, known by many as “Medieval Manhattan” due to its unique features handed down through the centuries. Walking through the characteristic alleys along with your friendly guide you can fully immerse yourself in the magical atmosphere of this fascinating medieval town.
Together with your local guide you will discover this characteristic Tuscan town situated up on a rolling hill (332 metres). You will learn more about its towers, some of them built almost 1000 years ago; these majestical towers soar like modern New York skyscrapers, showing off the power and wealth of the families that originally owned them. Wandering through the typical little alleys you will have the sensation of jumping back to medieval times. There are many jewels to admire in San Gimignano, starting with Porta San Giovanni, the panoramic views from the encircling walls, the Town Hall and its picture gallery, Saint Augustine Church, the Cathedral and the Fortress. On the way we will stop for a delicious gelato in the central Piazza della Cisterna If you are still not satisfied, at the end of the tour you can climb 200 steps to the Torre Grossa, the tallest tower of the town. Here you will appreciate the magnificent and breath taking views from 54 meters in the air! Once the tour has finished you will enjoy a wine tasting in the Vernccia museum, relaxing in the panoramic terrace, to let you enjoy the rest of your day!
