Explore the historical town of San Gimignano, known by many as “Medieval Manhattan” due to its unique features handed down through the centuries. Walking through the characteristic alleys along with your friendly guide you can fully immerse yourself in the magical atmosphere of this fascinating medieval town.
Once you have met your local guide you will go to discover this characteristic Tuscan town perched upon a hilltop (332 metres). You will find 72 towers, 14 of which were constructed 800 years ago, these majestical towers soar like modern New York skyscrapers, transmitting the sense of power and wealth of those that originally had them constructed. Wandering through the typical little alleys you really will have the sensation of jumping back to medieval times. There are many jewels to admire at San Gimignano, starting with the Porta San Giovanni, the panoramic views from the encircling walls, the Communal Palace, Sant’Agostino Church, Collegiate Church and the Fortress. If you are still not hungry at the end of the tour you can climb 200 steps to the Torre Grosso, the most famous tower of all, standing at 54 metres. Here you will be able to appreciate the magnificent and breath taking views. Once the tour has finished your guide will accompany you to one of the most celebrated restaurants where you can enjoy the typical, local cuisine.
