From here you’ll walk along the narrow streets of the old town, lined with beautiful buildings that belonged to important noble families, like Palazzo Tolomei, considered the oldest private palace in Siena. You will continue all the way to the famous Piazza del Campo.
Characterized by a unique and authentic atmosphere, mostly known for the famous palio which takes place every year, Piazza del Campo represents the historical heart and the core of the social and local life of Siena. Walking through the square, your friendly and expert guide will tell you everything about its history and curiosities, and you will learn how this place comes alive during the race. Afterwards you will reach Palazzo Chigi-Saracini, once property of the powerful Marescotti family and currently home to the prestigious Accademia Musicale (Music Academy).
The tour continues with a visit to the spectacular Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta (the Duomo), a masterpiece of the Italian Roman-Gothic architecture, where you can admire impressive works by Donatelllo, Bernini and Michelangelo. You will be enchanted by so much beauty!
